VISION FOR RECONCILIATION
At Bellbird Park State Secondary College, we acknowledge and respect the histories and cultures of First Nations peoples.
We strive for a stronger understanding of Australia's true histories to promote opportunities to achieve reconciliation through equity, equality, and social justice. We will ensure all students have equal and equitable education and wellbeing outcomes and opportunities.
OUR RECONCILIATION JOURNEY
Bellbird Park State Secondary College is committed to reconciliation and embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives across all aspects of our school culture. Our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) provides a framework for fostering meaningful relationships, cultural understanding, and positive change.
Developed in collaboration with students, staff, parents, and community members, our RAP reflects our ongoing learning and commitment to truth-telling and cultural respect. Key initiatives include:
✅ Embedding First Nations perspectives into our curriculum.
✅ Strengthening connections with local Elders and community leaders.
✅ Providing professional development for staff on cultural awareness and responsiveness.
✅ Celebrating significant cultural events such as NAIDOC Week, National Reconciliation Week, and Sorry Day.
✅ Creating inclusive and culturally safe spaces that honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, languages, and cultures.
We are proud to be part of a growing movement of schools working towards reconciliation. Our RAP is a living document, evolving as we continue to build a community founded on respect, relationships, and opportunities for all.
